Musicly Challenged

Music. It has a huge impact on our lives. Who you listen to now will change your life in future. I guarantee it. So here's a challenge: If you're always listening to secular music (non-christian) pick up some contemporary Christian tunes and load 'em up to your iPod. Listen to only Christian music for one week and then see how you've changed. After a week is up, you can go back to your old music. How does it feel to be listening to this music again? Maybe you'll find you actually like Christian better.

If you need some artists to get you started here's a list:
Superchick
BarlowGirl
Skillet
Addison Road
Newsboys
10 avenue north
Mandisa
Toby Mac
Francessca Badestelli

Will you take the challenge and be the one?

Change of Plans....

Wow, I am so sorry for not posting lately. I think I'm a spastic blogger. one second, I'll have 2 posts, the next I won't post for days. Even Months. It's quite pathetic. Anyway, I'm no longer going to be covering Song of Songs. I will just be writing what God puts on my heart.

Songs of Pure Love, Songs of Pure Passion

Read any part of Song of Songs and you can tell that Solomon and his bride are completely in a head-over-heels kid of love. This is a real, lasting, forever love that fairytale maidens can only dream of. They are so enthralled with each other! Nothing could ever come between these two lovebirds. Can you even begin to imagine the beauty of such a love? To me, it’s still unfathomable.

Song of Songs says “You have captured my heart, my sister, my bride; with one glance of your eyes; with one jewel of your necklace”. King Solomon’s Beloved has captured his heart- his whole being. He is all hers. Isn’t this all us girls could ever dream of? This guy, this wonderful man, wants to be all yours. He longs to look at you and be with you. He’d rather be beside you than anywhere else in the world.* You have his heart. You have his soul. You are his Queen. You are his angel. You are his and he is yours.

This is how our relationship should be and could be with God. Now before you tune me out (yes, I know you’ve heard this same thing before) think about this: Can you think of anyone who wants to be with you all the time? (Besides your pet J) Can you think of anyone who loves you so much that they would do literally anything for you, even if you’re in a bad mood? I can only think of one. God. He lives to hear your voice. He waits all day to hear you say “I love you”. He can and will do anything for you. He’ll protect you at all cost. He gave his life for you so you could be with him for ETERNITY! (Yes, FOREVER and EVER and EVER and EVER and…) His love for you was so powerful that he rose again just to prove his love and fulfill the prophecies! All he wants is you.

The call may be hard. The journey may be long. You won’t be alone, though at times it may be scary. It won’t be easy, but it WILL be worth. Do you want that deep, unfathomable love? Will you stand for Pure Love?

*If this guy is everything I'm trying to convey here, the only person/thing that he will love/want to be with more than you is God.

Song of Songs- Well... here goes nothing :)

Song of songs. Song of Solomon. Book of love. Book of romance. Book of passion. No matter how you translate this book, it's in the Bible. Someone (that someone being God Almighty) chose to put it in his love letter to you. It must be there for a reason. What is that reason?

I think it's because God wanted us to see what love between a husband and wife should look like. In my Bible (true Images) every book has an intro to it. Here's how my Bible answers the question:

On one level, this song celebrates that God created sex and wants  married couples to enjoy each other. On another deeper level, it pictures the overwhelming love God has for his people- faithful, true, unending, joyous.

I think this is exactly why this is in the Bible! Anyway, the reason I'm writing about this is so I can pick apart part of this book. For the next few posts, I will be (trying to) explain Song of Songs 4:9-15. Hopefully, with a lot of prayer and studying, I will be able to.

Well, time for bed. 'Nite readers!

Will you be the one?

Welcome to 'I'll Be The One"! This last weekend, I went with a bunch of friends to our Youth Group's Winter Camp. It was amazing! We had a wonderful time. Friday-Monday we got to hang out and talk and play till the wee hours of the morning. It's hard to figure out which part was the most fun, but I DO know which night made the most impact.

Saturday night, after we had come back from tubing on the mountains, we had two special speakers (Brad Henning and Pastor E) Both of their messages were amazing! Brad Henning spoke on Realationships and difference between guys and girls. it was REALLY eye opening! Pastor E taught on changing your generation.

This whole weekend inspired me to begin this blog and start changing the world's view of purity. It only takes one to stand up. Soon other people will begin following your example. After a while, the whole world will changed. Don't you see how this works? One action leads to another, which leads to another, which leads to another, which leads.... It's the ripple effect! It only takes one to drop a little bit of purity on the world, and soon, if you take the stand, the whole world will be standing with you.

Will you be the one? Will you take a stand? Or will you let the enemy take more ground? Take a stand to change the world- one person at a time.

Ready to take the pledge? Comment on this post and follow my blog for more updates.

I will be the one.
